No physical license due to COVID delay... can I still transport and use firearms?

Hey, exact same situation here. approved two and a half weeks ago no license and have 3 firearms I'm itching to shoot...I haven't even heard of any people receiving theirs. Ugh hopefully its not going to be September...

Not sure I understand how you cant print licenses while social distancing...Especially considering the office in New Brunswick which basically has no Covid cases...

Makes me wonder how many people are in the same boat. Decided it's not worth the risk so I'm just going to sit tight until I get my card in the mail. Someone mentioned getting my MP involved which might be the way to go.

My best friend is in the same boat. First, the CFP claimed they never received his range membership info (despite it being mailed months ago), fixed that, now his license is approved but judging by this thread (and others just like it) his license could be some time before it shows up.

Hey, I gotta say the Ontario CFO is super helpful. They actually give you time lines and information etc.

It's now the massive printer that is trying to catch up. A max it can print 2000 cards a day, but it is currently 40,000 cards behind. I believe it is somewhere early to mid June for printing.
As it is your first licence you need to wait for the card to be legal to do anything.

Don't be cute. You very well know the difference between "may" & "shall" and I'm sure you know the meaning of "your call". I never said it was "no big deal" or even insinuated that. The OP was given information to make a informed decision and it is entirely up to him as to his course of action, hence his call.

LOL Sure

Shawn

UPDATE: I called the CFO today to see if my license had been printed. The lady on the phone said that it had been printed yesterday and sent out this morning. Looks like they're catching up! Best of luck to other people in the thread that were in a similar spot.

Sorry for the double post, but there was an interesting paragraph in the recent letter that OFAH sent to Billy Blair regarding COVID delays:

OFAH letter to Minister Blair said:
Regardless of what solution is used, the government should also clarify what “proof” of a valid licence is required. This has been a significant source of confusion for firearms licence holders, particularly when significant backlogs occur. For example, if a “renewal” was interpreted to mean that a licence had been processed and is valid, even without being in receipt of the PAL card, then could an email confirmation be considered a temporary licence until a physical one is received in the mail?

Rest of the letter here.
