I went looking for some subsonic ammo this afternoon. I went everywhere and no one had it. Probably could have boughts 2 bricks with the amount of gas I used:p

heh last weekend there was no 22 rimfire at all in the east walmart let alone subsonic. Is this a sign? Should i watch for zombies?

That's right!! The day I went on my subsonic hunt, I went to the south wal-mart and they didn't have any LR ammo either.
If hyper-velocity ammo is what your after, I say probably close to 30 bricks of yellow jackets at the gun store.

The reason for the walmart shortage is that they no longer sell Federal ammo, thus no fereral bulk .22. Bastards.....oh well....crappy tire it is.

Go to Benders Gun Store in Swift Current. It is is indeed a two hour drive but they got all kinds of goodies at really low prices. You might even make up your gas money by saving on ammo.

Box of 20X 30.06 ...$16

Box of 500X.22 LR...$15

I even managed to score a whole crate(1200 rounds) of non-corrosive 7.62X39...$150

I cleaned up pretty good.

That sounds like a deal. I often pass throught swift current. The inlaws live in Medicine Hat so we travel through it alot. Now seeing that alot of you are from the Queen City, where do most of you shoot. The Wildlife Federation by White City? or the Gun Range out by Condie?

That's where I normally go. I prefer to gopher hunt over punching paper but the only location that I know of which is any good is about an hour and a half away. Do any of you local boys know any spots that are close to the city or would that be giving away your secret.:p

Uhh....no. They just got in a CRAP LOAD of the federal bulk packs. I bought four.

Now I just need to find some gopher land...

Yea, I haven't really been out shooting gophers yet. All my shooting is being done at the range by White City. I'm looking for a place to hunt gophers. Hell, I'd be willing to drive an hour and half to find a place.

Lots of gopher's out. just drive down some rural roads. Any pasture will have 'em. Just make sure there's no cattle around.

I shoot at the Wildlife Federation as well. It's a good range.

I went ten minutes outside the city yesterday and shot a couple gophers. I only shot a couple because it was very wet and muddy still. Best to go on a hot, dry day.

Your best bet is to take Arcola out and after 10-15 minutes, turn on a grid road (preferably south). Drive another 5 minutes or so on the grid road and when you no longer see the main highway, stop.

Lots of abandoned farm barns around. You can just walk 500 meters into any field and voila! ...gophers for everyone. It's like a video game. I can't reload fast enough.

Just make sure you don't shoot near live stock and that you are respectfull of the land, even if it apears that no one is around.

No farmer will complain about taking care of his pest problem. Have fun!

That is beautiful news. I know what I am doing with my day off on friday. Thanks and maybe I'll see some of you at the WLF on the rimfire range, or if I have my 10/22 magnum, on the Black powder range.

I'm aware of the little pests being everywhere. I'm just uncomfortable being on somebody's land without consent or knowledge, which is why I really haven't given it a go.
