Vltor will not honor warrenty on it products in Canada. I have MI-S stock on my Socom 16. It has developed a hair line crack were they patched the full auto selector hole. They say it will never get worse and does not effect the integrety of the stock. After only firing 100 rounds I figured I would like a new stock. They say the state department is not allowing them to ship to Canada. They are terrified of the State. I bought my stock in the US and brought it back. I asked if I had purchased from a Canadian dealer would I have warrenty coverage and they said no. I was planning on being in the US in October and asked them to send it to the hotel. They said no because they knew I would be taking it back to Canada. I wonder if the same goes for Sage and troy. I have delt many times with Surefire and they have no problem with doing warrenty work on restricted items.

OK, please read the many posts about exporting from the US. If the stock was not legally exported, then you don't have a warranty. The same with Nightforce, Aimpoints, Trijicon. They are required to legally export the items via the state department before being imported. You can't do it yourself at this point since you can't export it without the proper paperwork.

Do a search and read up on the implication of illegally exporting the stock from the US. You might not get a chance to visit the US again. If you think they won't do it over a stock for an M14...guess again...happened to a member here on the board...

This rule applies to all scopes exported from the USA now.

New stricter rules circa 2007. Now the dual use scope clause is now long gone sadly enough! (one scope for military use & F-class for civilians)

Example: Burris now has an optical repair facility in Finland for non-US customers.

"...NO warrenty on...I bought my stock in the US and brought it back..." No warrantee on anything illegally exported under U.S. law(our side doesn't care about parts). All M14 parts, M14 stocks are parts, are restricted for export by the U.S. Dept of State. And the manufacturer must have a very expensive Commerce Dept licence to export.
In any case, what the nice people at Vltor told you is right. A wee crack in the material they used to fill in the selector hole is no big deal. It's just cosmetic. Certainly does not need a stock replacement even if the stock was legally exported.
Your options are to forget about it or route the material out and replace it with 2 part epoxy bedding material. Piece of masking tape on both sides of the stock and fill in the space with epoxy bedding material. No big deal. It's just cosmetic.

Sunray is way off... that stock is about to suffer a major breakage due to that crack. Send it to me immediately! Name your price. :D

at least others wanting an AR15 furniture compatable, collapseable m14 stock now have the option of buying canadian. the Vltor is a modified usgi fiberglass stock with a fancy adaptor bolted on to the back of it. the new ICRW M14S-CQB is made of all new composite materials and a 7075 T6 aluminum imbedded adaptor..... and ..... it comes with a lifetime warranty..... yes you read that right. ;)

to the original poster, your stock can be repaired, send me an email if you would like more info. i can walk you through the repair or you can send it in for a make over.
