XCR 7.62x39 - ORDERS !



We have just been advised the US State Dept may approve the export of the XCR in caliber 7.62 x 39, if the export papers are made out to the end user. The end user is the final customer/owner, they will have to sign the US DSP83 End User Certificate.



There will be a charge for this extra paperwork, not sure exactly what that will be at this point in time, we are actively working on it. We would like to make this a group buy so we can at least have the complete order in one shipment.



If this plan is put into effect we would require a deposit with the order and DSP83. In the event that the export license was not issued the deposits would be refunded less a service fee, these details will all be clear before we accept any orders.



No price as of yet, the number of mags and accessories (Iron sights, rail covers etc) included would make a difference but if we assume a rifle (7.62 x 39) was in the $2,700.00 range and a 7.62 x 39 conversion kit (to use with existing rifles) was under $1,000.00 how many would be interested? Barrels will be 18.6 inches.

All these guys lining up to buy a 7.62x39 XCR remind me of people who buy a Hummer and then complain about gas prices...

I'm surprised noones come out and asked "Can I get an XCR in .22lr?"

Yeah, they were working on a belt-fed option for their M96 too....
I love it when guys pointing out the pros and cons to the system claim the caliber options as a 'pro' -Unless that option is sitting in your safe, it is hardly an advantage...
 
Beltfed, you need to find a new hobby. Posting negative comments about the XCR to make you feel better is growing old.

Sure, there are not a lot of conversions available YET. The key word is YET. The 6.8 is available, the 762x39 is coming, they are working on others too.

Actually, according to people who have been shot at by it, he's not wrong. Especially out of the rifles in use in Afghanistan. Let's face it nobody would be thrilled at a semi-auto firing the 30-30 Win. - 7.62x39 is very similar to 30-30, with the exception that it can use a slightly better bullet (which really isn't cartridge dependant, it's firearm dependant)

My hobby is shooting - I'd wager a guess that it is the same as (most) others on the board here too. I can do that with a rifle that is currenly in my safe better than I can with a rifle or conversion kit that 'they are working on' or 'it's coming any day now'. I would imagine this is likely the same for most anyone.
It stands to reason that if someone is really looking forward to purchasing one in the imminent future with the hopes of shooting right away, they may want to consider readily available firearms that are chambered for the caliber in question. The recent Russian SKS and Czech. VZ58 variants are excellent examples -and they are available now.

My comment leveled at Robarms in this instance is factual. They did market the M96 with the intention of providing other variants of the Stoner 63 platform. People that buy into their hype of 'other conversion kits coming to a dealer near you soon' may want to keep that in mind - and maybe not want to hold their breath quite as long as it may take. This is no different than the Sig rifles in 7.62x51 or any of the scar models. If you think that is an unfair statement please explain your position. While you're at it, explain to me what gives you the right to jump on my posts within these 'XCR' threads, and claim I'm somehow being vindictive toward the manufacturer or their product. Why are you so defensive of the product or the company?
