Interesting Enfield 1916 No1 mk 3*. All the parts are marked with the C broad arrow.
The bore is good and the barrel isn't cut down.
The action has a partial c broad arrow.

Are the two holes in the wood below the rear sight suppose to be there?
What is it worth?

Very nice, would be a good candidate for restoring to its former glory and yes those 2 holes are supposed to be there, it's for the spring clip that holds on the rear portion of the hand guard, as for value probably 150-200.

It came from a older friend. Many moons ago it was used to hunt with, but hasn't left the safe for at least 30 years now.
Think i will fire off a few rounds before I decide what to do with it.
