Hello my enfield seems to have a problem with pulling out the casing smoothly, mind you
I did this test with a spent shell and have not fired a live round. I put a casing in the mag the claw catches it and loads it into the chamber (with a little help as without the bullet it does hit the ramp smoothly) but once in it is difficult to turn the bolt down to get into the final locking position. When it comes times to pull the bolt back to extract it, it requires much force to do so need to lay the rifle down. Unloaded the bolt seems to function smoothly the claw has no problem grabbing the rim just makes the bolt very difficult to turn to lock in and than eventually extract.

Does the bolt head screw in correctly and completely into the bolt? Does the firing pin at the back look somewhat flush with the cocking piece? If so then it's:

1. Deformity or burr in the chamber (you'd see it) or

2. really bad head space or, and most likely

3. misshapen brass case.
