Just picked up a sporterised 1914 SHTLE barrel stamped motty and an H looks heavier than most no1 barrels is this common bore looks good but rifling is getting shallow at the chamber
Pics would be helpful but it sounds like you have one of the Australian heavy barrel range rifles. Is there also an "H" stamped in the butt stock wrist area just behind the bolt? What year is the rifle?
1914 wood is has been sanded before I got it and I can email pics but haven't figured out how to post without growing grey hairs. Are the heavy barrels more desirable? Is this worthy of restoration or just sell as a hunter
