Go to YouTube and look up "RifleChair", he has a neat video of a pristine "SMLE" No.1 mk111*, he purchased, including cleaning out the bore for copper build up, adding linseed oil to the stock, and at the range also,..its pretty good

I was able to get one from this lastest batch that he had, a 44 LB. The SMLE I got earlier from him was very nice so am hoping the LB will be nice too

well i ordered a 1950 no4mk1 from this last batch,it looks real nice from the online pics .so excited to see it ,it was rifle 108 i think .1950 last year of production. There is still on 1950 available looks like.112

I just got mine and operation get it into the gun safe without the wife seeing succeeded. I will wait until the weekend to crack open the box and check the goods. I'll see about taking some pics and posting them later.

Here are some words of wisdom to all those young bucks from an old stag.

Get yerself an old beat up soft rifle case, the kind that can fold up fairly small. Make a habit of carrying a rifle, any rifle out to the car and back into your gun room/basement/man cave.

If asked, you are just taking the same old rifle that you have had for years to the range, to your buddies for maintenance, to clean, to sell (that is always a good one!) whatever.

Then, when a new rifle comes along. Into the house it goes in the case. If asked, yup, just another trip with the same old rifle.

Never, ever allow SWMBO the opportunity to count guns in the safe (safes). I never count the shoes that fill the closet!

This technique has worked for me for 30 years. Never been called out on it.

I'm up to ### Enfields and I still NEED a few more to round out the collection.

Good ideas, but in the modern digital world and online banking, with everything instantly updated and easy to see and monitor, it helps to have a good relationship with your personal banker. Mine has helped me move some funds around under the radar when a must-have item comes up that is time sensitive to make the deal.

Part of the excitement, don't get caught lol.wont see mine for a few days will post some pics when it arrives .also have a 1888 commission rifle coming from Martian .so Christmas in Feb for me lol

I had my finger hovering over the purchase button for one of those LB's from Corwin ...feeling somewhat relieved I held off.

Does the fact that several of them are turning up on the EE very shortly after arriving at their new homes, make them seem questionable to anyone else?

Looks like over 200 rifles were sold. Only 3 showed up on EE that is less then 2%. Impulse buying. I'm still holding for Westrifle to bring his enfields but it starts to look like nothing will come out from Westrifle

I'm very satisfied with the one I got from Corwin. I think a couple people picked up multiples in order to keep the best of the bunch and that is what we are seeing on the EE. Not to say that no one came down with a case of buyers remorse, but from what i have seen, i would be surprised if anyone felt they had overpaid for what they received. I'm going to go a step further than most would and say that that Martin sold these below their actual market value so as to not sit on the stock for too long. I think that is fairly evident by the speed with which they sold. A good test of this will be the dozen or so he just put up. I doubt they will still be there come Monday. I'm just trying to resist buying a couple more myself.

They are not cheap, add tax and shipping and you are looking at over $1100
at that price it is easy to resist.

I'm one of the guys selling a couple of rifles. Not buyers remorse at all. I made some deals that are bringing in 4 more Enfields and I would like to move two to make some room.
I took 5 Enfields to the range today and shot them all. The biggest surprise was the 1917 with mag cut off. What a great shooter. I can't believe a 100 year old rifle would shoot this well. This one is not for sale. The 1942 mkIII also shot very well as did all the No4 rifles. Great day to be outside.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed previously ....but what is the history behind these batches of LB rifles? Where are they getting them in such quantities?
