No4 Longbranch Ceremonial (chrome plated) value

This is my No4 MkI*. I would offer some great trade items for a chromed No1 MkIII or a Long Branch No4.

Chrome plating can cause hydrogen embrittlement if not treated properly, and could render the rifle unsafe to shoot. Not to mention, the chrome (actually the nickel base) will affect the tolerances of holes, bolt slot etc , and would necessitate care to make it even work. I'd be concerned how it was processed so for that reason I wouldn't expect to shoot it.

The only ones I've seen were presentation pieces in Legions and JRM's. Most were in cases and had dedication plaques. I recall that they were presented by clubs and other shooting associations. They could have only been sourced on the private market. Back in the day, that was easy and lots of chrome shops around who would think nothing about doing a rifle, cap badge, etc.
