Hey CGN folks
Ended trading an old scope of mine for a this No4 Mk1 from a friend that looks like it needs some TLC and then maybe some more to bring back to a nice working condition.
I was just wondering if the condition of the bore ( or perhaps other parts) would even make this a safe shooter as is? Bore has some serious pitting, fair bit of rust/patina on metal parts and who knows what lays beneath the wood as my friend received it from a client of his who let it sit neglected for many years sadly...
Perhaps you fine gentleman can lend advice and tell me a little more of the rifle and markings. I can faintly make out an FTR above the No4 Mk1. Faint proof markings near the front of the receiver. Barrel does not move freely in any direction while holding gun steady. Gun has not being headspaced or checked over by anybody.
It's my first Enfield and would like to get it back to shootable condition but just need to make sure the juice is worth the squeeze and that I can actually squeeze it. Ha.
Thanks
