Nobody taccing up Mossbergs?

Yes! I've been debating getting another Mossberg for a shorty.
I bought a second-hand, well maintained 590A1 with ghost ring sights, heatshield, heavy barrel and mag tube, both safety and trigger guard made of aluminium. There is a nice ATI AKIRA stock on it, and I recommend! Great to provide adjustments. The original LOP of the 590 reg stock is 14.25" according to specs.

I tend to prefer the shorter regular sized Recto cabs. The taller model tends to have too much low-mids and the type of comb filtering gives it a more hollow sound. Always preferred the "normal" sized cabs.
Glad with the Recto series they finally went to a rear loaded speaker on the baffle board. Front loaded never sounds good in a 4x12 or even a 2x12 (it can work on some 1x12 designs). Front loaded has way too much low mids. Has to be rear loaded to have the correct upper midrange cut like a good older Marshall cab.
If you're running a Recto head you may want to consider having the bias modded to be adjustable. The non-adjustable bias Boogie uses is set very cold, like about -15 milliamps. If you run it about -30ma makes the amp sound a lot warmer. That's about the range a 6L6 or a EL34 wants to run in anyway.

Ia a real 1970s Mossberg 500 ATP Tactical enough ? It does make that Brand New 500 feel like a POS tho !...lol...
Never been much for Mossbergs, but I'd love to get an ATP6S or ATP8S in the collection. I'd say the late 50s through 80s really were the golden ages of riot guns.
On that note, I missed out on an ATP6S some months back at auctions. Still gets me to suck my teeth every now and again thinking about it.
I have an 870 clone due to cost, but I'd far rather have a Mossberg. Both are great and reliable guns but I prefer the aluminum receiver of the Mossberg. It's much more light weight. A 14" Mossberg 500 with a 28" spare barrel would be my ideal shotgun. But to get that would cost me like 13-1500 bucks and I can have the same with the 870 clone for $400.
Yeah, 870's, just because of widespread availability, are much more cost effective at building and customizing compared to Mossberg.

Did you have to modify that foreend to fit the 14" barrel? Also what front sling attachment method are you using? It's a real pain to try to get a sling up front on these
