Non chinese M-14

Options for a Non chinese "M14 type rifle" include the following.
-Springfield M1A- availlable via canadian dealers or buy from an american ffl dealer and import
-LRB M14SA and M25 - available in receiver only, barreled action or barrelled action with parts. Importable, see Clay at Prophet River Firearms or Questar
-7.62 firearms - receivers are availlable, Not sure if imported by anyone yet.
-Smith Enterprise- receivers are now reaching the market, I do not believe any have been imported yet.

All will cost you a pretty penny.
One should not fear buying a chinese rifle for it's highly regarded for dimension and hardness, hammer forged receiver.

My Norinco M-14S uses stripper clips or removable mag.

If it's a "stripper clip" it will most likely be called by the full name "stripper clip".

A "mag" or a "clip" is the commonly accepted term for a "magazine".

:D:rolleyes::);):wave:

Are we going down this "mag or clip" road again?

Because people commonly use the word "clip" for a magazine, which is wrong, doesn't mean it should be accepted.

FFS, clips feed magazines, in the garand, an enbloc clip sits inside an internal MAGAZINE.

Show me any gun site that uses the word "clip" when describing a firearm they sell, do they say " 50 cal bmg comes with a 10 round clip"

NO I thought not.

Clip is used interchangeably with mag.
Get with it. Get over it. And get on with life.
When I tell people my M14 takes a 20 shot "clip", 99.999999999999% of them know that I am talking about where I put the bullets!
End of descusion.

You can also call your revolver a pistol and 99% the people will understand.
It won't change the fact that you misname your handgun and look a little ignorant for doing so.

It would be nice to get back to the US made M14 topic.

Awwwwwww dont be like that

A Chinese one is better then not having a M14 ;) Just replace the junk parts with US ones :) Mine looks pretty sweet now with its hand oiled walnut stock.

If your not buy Chinese out of hate for the country. Well am sure your $400 wont help them that much since the USA owes the a few trillion :p

Fixed it for you. I know it's just zeroes, and zero is nothing, but .....

Use of the word 'magazine' or, if you prefer, 'mag' marks a firearms enthusiast from a gun-noob whose primary knowledge of firearms comes from movies and TV. Most of the time one ignores the error as it is voiced by those who know no better, but amongst gun owners it is not uncommon for such an error to be pounced upon - ergo your spanking from Wildphil and others :p
