Non-copper jacketed bullet fouling

I fired probably 100 remington thunderbolts and 50 CCI Blazers today and I had to clean the bore out every 30 shots because I'd look down the barrel and it would be caked in chunks of lead or something. At one point, my wet patch pushed out actual flakes of metal which was slightly unnerving.

Is this normal for non-jacketed bullets?
 
I have had terrible leading with Remington Thunderbolts. Other non-plated ammo like Blazer and American Eagle 40gr RN have been fine.
 
I've personally found non-plated Remington 22LR ammo to produce a lot of fouling as well (specifically Thunderbolts and the cheap Rem "Target" ammo). I prefer Federal Champion 40gr RN for non-plated.
 
Remington rimfire is beyond filthy IMO. Clean it and run the Blazers through and you won't have a problem.
 
Unless it was residual muck from some remington, the blazers seemed to be just as dirty when I would remove the bolt and stare down the bore.

personally I hate using non plated .22 ammo.

cleaner to touch, and easier to clean and maintain the rifle/pistol. plus none of this "it needs 20 rounds to lead in, and then it only lasts for 50 rounds until I have to clean it again)" stuff
 
I am working my way through some Thunderbolts before I use the AE and Blazer I have. My m93 woodsman devours them along with my jw21 lever. I have even started using them in my pps50. Aside from the dud rate they seem to feed and eject as well as any. No leading and not really dirtier either.

I would buy them before Wildcats.
