Non coroosive 7.62 x 39

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's been discussed before in this forum that the Districorp Hungarian 7.62x39mm is ......... hmmm how do I put this ......... "mislabelled".

Any former Warsaw Pact country's ammo should be considered corrosive, especially for '70's production.

Are you sure because Districorp claim that there 7.62 x 39 is "Berdan primed, non-corrosive". http://www.districorp.ca/English/ammunition.htm

I was so happy I just made an order. Should I cancel it?

I'm aware of their "claim". It does not reflect the reality of the situation. Cancelling the order's up to you.

Personally I've never understood the reluctance to shoot corrosive. It takes me less than 10 minutes to properly clean my SKS after shooting it. I'd be ordering the Czech ammo from CanAm. It's quite a bit cheaper.

Hungarian is so far from being non-corrosive it is actually more corrosive than Czech surplus. Hugarian has got mercuric salts in it and will brutalize your brakes, and non-chromed surfaces if you don't clean within an hour after shooting. The results on a steel witness plate prove this to be the case.

I also found the hungarian 762x39 to be corrosive. Other than the cleaning right away (I also shoot a muzzle loader so it is a habbit already), I found it to be okay to use.

The only reason to avoid corrosive ammo is if you're too f**king lazy to take 5 min to clean your rifle. Even then, it isnt even necessary to do so every single time you shoot it. I know many people who will go 500-1000 rounds between cleanings - shooting corrosive.

All the talk about corrsive ammo being the devil is just bs

I don't mind cleaning , I don't mind shooting corrosive ammo .
I get really pissed when I buy 1120 rounds of ammo that only goes "bang"
3-4 times out of 5 .
Not to name names but I have tried 2 crates from 2 seperate suppliers in 2 seperate guns . The stuff sucks at any price .
no wonder the commies got rid of it .

yeah rick, I was gonna ask the same thing. I have never had a failure to fire with surplus stuff. It goes bang for me every time :D I like it.

I bought a crate of Czech milsurp and I have had 3 FTFs in 600 rounds...not so bad...I think the primers are harder than a Lieberals head...:p

Declan- I run boiling water through the barrel and gas system to remove corrosive salts. Then I run patches down the barrel until they don't come out dirty anymore. Than I put some lube oil in the barrel, and run a patch in it to remove excess oil. I don't oil the gas system, just clean it after the boiling water treatment. Takes about 10-15 minutes.

Yay water in your gun to get rid of salt. Why ament I running for some czech ammo again? :p I go shooting so I can shoot. If I wanted to play water sports and put water into my guns I would have bought a super soaker.

Norinco ammo used to be just as cheap, and it dint need water, amonia, or voodoo to keep it from rusting up your gun. Yah I am a lazy ####. The reason I bought reliable guns was so I could be a lazy ####.
