Non Corrosive 7.62x39mm Found

Things Military in Calgary usually has lots of 7.62X39. Sometimes its MFS Hungary, sometimes Igman South Africa. I think right now they only have corrosive Czech surplus, but keep an eye out.

I have lots of Igman, and it works great, hits hard and is non-corrosive and reloadable.

33) 7.62 x 39 Russian - boxer primed - Imported by Century Arms - BRASS CASES - 15 rnds/box - 54 boxes - $10/box.

This is non-corrosive too.
I can ship anywhere in Canada by Canpar.

Anyone interested??? uhmmmmm??

why cant we get anymore of the chinese stuff in the silver box? Because of its non-corrosive nature and a reasonable price, there seems to be a huge demand for it out there....if someone was to import it again they would fly off the shelves.....

I honestly don't know why people have such hard times finding 7.62x39 and 7.62x54 boxer primed bass cartridges... even at decent prices.

I was in a home hardware store today that usded to sell fishing and firearms stuff. I long forgot they had a ammo display, they burried it and haven't been stocking it up. I saw a few 22 hornet boxes in the cases and when i asked to buy them, the manager asked if i was interested in any .308.
sure i said... what have ya got? I guess a customer last august got him to order 10 boxes of fedreral 150 gr SP power shock and never showed up for it...... I told him if the price was right i'd take it all...... cantire sells for 20.00 a box. He looks at me and says... I can do much better.... how bout 1/2 that price......  9.99 a box   :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: I bought it all :D
too bad there was no 7.62x39 though

Is there an accurate online resource to check if ammo is corrosive or not?
I recently acquired some Chinese 7.62x39 ammo with the following headstamps:
1) 71 over 93 (Silver Box, brown lacquer cases)
2) 9121 over 74 (in brown paper, wrapped in 25 round bundles, copper wash)
3) 31 over 93 (in brown paper, wrapped in 25 round bundles, copper wash)

Trying to find out what is corrosive and what isn't. Any possiblity of steel core in any of this?
Found some info here: http://www.ak-47.us/JAFreeman/AK_ammo_identification.php
But not sure if the information is reliable. Says "All ammo packed in the paper wrapped bundles has steel core bullets."

 :sniper:

93 is non-corrosive
74 is corrosive, steel core

The boxed is lead core. Pull a bullet on the wrapped 93 and check for steel at the base.

Gary up at Lock Stock and Barrel in New West has a bit of brass cased Bell 7.62x39 and 5.56x45.

I was there at Lock/Stock today and just noticed the 7.62x39 he had was brass and non-corrosive. Its south african stuff and boxer primed. Came in nice 25rnd red plastic self-locking boxes, similar to the MTM ones, but without the internal dividers. Said they were perfectly reloadable.

I *think* the price was 250rnds for $140... but can't recall completely. He answers his phone, tho. :)
