Whats a good place to buy/brand of non corrosive ammo for the tokarev, small quantities? I would just like to try the tokarev at my next range session, I don't really want to buy a case for it.

box of 50 at the ammo source? Anything cheaper?

S&B or Prvi is about it, and its all about the same price. P&S sells the corrosive by the box if that helps....

ever bought tk ammo locally? I've checked online but the shipping fees are like 30$ to get 200 45acp and 200 762x25, I guess I get get 45 easily but 762x25 not so sure.

Canada Ammo has free shipping if you spend $100....

It's $200 now. Not a big deal, but it will make a difference to some.

Ammunition is not handled by Canada Post, only by hazardous materials licensed couriers like UPS, DHL, and CanPar. 200 rounds is a very small quantity of ammunition. I know everyone's got their own budget, but you could easily shoot that amount in one range session. You don't want to be ordering ammo once a week, make bigger orders to bring the shipping down as a percentage of the total order.

As for finding Tokarev cartridges locally, it depends where ‘local’ is for you. Many stores across the country should have some of the new production S&B in stock (the TT is a pretty popular pistol, for price and availability). Some stores will have brought in crates of surplus and cracked them open to sell in smaller batches. Check around.

The same way you would nomally clean a pistol, easy as pie.:)

Little different actually. Most regular gun cleaning solvents will not dissolve the 'salts' in corrosive ammo (which are the problem). After shooting corrosive ammo, you actually need to rinse the barrel (there's a school of thought that ammonia works best, like in Windex, but many just use water). The firing pin assembly only needs to be rinsed if you can a primer split.

So, long story short, rinse the barrel in water or windex, dry thoroughly, then resume normal cleaning procedures.
