Looking for various options to add a flashlight to a 1911 9mm non railed. No real purpose in mind just keeping up with the one who dies with the most toys wins. I've seen some that attach to the trigger gaurd but cant find a source online

That's the one I found. I've seen others but cant find them online.

Does it add a noticeable amount of weight?
No. It’s quite lightweight. It’s not a lot of lumens but it’s adequate.

I found the 1911 sights so crude and low that I mostly wanted the laser.

The whole setup works well.

I had put the Recover Tactical 1911 rail/ grip on it, but it was fugly and awkward. Strippped that off and went for this.

Surefire used to make a light for non rail 1911s.

You have to get the black PASGT helmet and a black milk truck… you can LARP around like “the teams”

Have you considered adding a piece of rail to the frame? Brownells has pre-cut, radiused rail sections for the 1911 frame. Requires 2 small holes in the frame.

Thanks, its a slick set up!
Maybe? The 1911 dust cover isn't overly thick either, be a question of having someone skilled enough to drill and tap the thin metal. Also there is the option of brazing it onto there if you can find a good welder capable of the thin metal without melting it.

Yeah, I thought about getting a rail welded on. Definitely get sketched these days though considering if you screw up, you can't replace it... the again I wouldn't care about putting a rail on a CZ85 if I could just go and buy an SP01 or Shadow 2, haha.
