Non-ramped barrel

I would like to be able to switch my SA 1911A1 over to this new barrel I picked up which is not ramped as the original one is. With the new barrel, the rounds jam into the underside of the barrel when chambering. Any helpful hints towards a solution for this?

You need to fill the place in the frame that was cut for the ramp.
I would think that a good epoxy (devcon or marine-tex) could be used to mould the frame and then attached to the the new barrel if you wanted to swap from ramped to unramped.
Why would you want to do that?
 
The reason for the swap is that the ramped barrel is compensated and the un-ramped isn't, prefer the classic look.
I had thought about a build-up on the barrel, Splatter, do you think those product you mentioned will stay put?

Or you could simply get a ramped barrel in the right calibre.

BTW a barrel should be fitted to function properly, this includes the length of the link, the lug depth, hood depth, etc...

I'd shy away from putting any sort of goo on the frame to fill the ramp cut. Either get a proper barrel and have it fitted, or learn how to fit it yourself. Barring that, sell this pistol and get one that is the way you want it. Those are far more practical, less frustrating and less expensive in the long run, than what you're trying to do now.
 
Can you say gunsmith? the easiest fix is, of course, to fit the unramped barrel and get it ramped at the same time to match the frame ramp.
 
Properly mixed Marine-Tex is amazingly tough. I've no doubt that if you did a nice job it would work for a surprisingly long time.

I seem to recall someone selling a "ramp plug" for fitting normal barrels to a cut frame.

The right answer is to get a ramped barrel fitted with no comp.
