Non-res CX4?

Yup but only heavy contour. I asked them for light contour but all they had I guess was heavy.
I bought it from them and had the barrel installed, never even had to get it registered as a restricted came straight from epps a non res.

Would you mind telling me/us how much it was....or how much they charged for the service? PM is fine.

I would prefer a heavy barrel. The tiny little thin barrel it comes with looks like a pencil.

The blowback action could not handle full load 10mm I suspect, one guy here made a 357Sig version. I am getting some 135gr .40cal bullets, will be interesting to chrono those out of my Storm.

If these could be converted to 10mm, I would definitely buy one...but I guess the cartridge is a little too long, not to mention mags would be an issue. Too bad they don't take Glock mags, that would be handy.

One in 10mm or some other hard hitting cartridge (or able to handle higher pressures of 45-08) and we would have a whole new ballgame when it came to bear defense threads:)

The ten-round Beretta 92 mags are also a bonus. ;)

You cannot use original mags from the rifle - has to be pinned to 5 rounds or you need to purchase aftermarket or Beretta pistol mags. Of course you can get away with it during registration, but better not be caught ... Point is - you will need to prove that 92 mags are different from the one's included with the rifle.

To repeat what has been said- any 10 round mag marked beretta 92 - which is a pistol only - can be used in a CX 4 - restricted or non. The only Beretta 9mm mags which fit the Storm whcih have to be pinned to 5 are the ones marked "CX4 Storm" - because the "Cx4 storm" marking indicates per CFC interpretation of the lawthat the mag was designed for a rifle and not a pistol. I -and many others - who initially bought these rifles when they came with mags marked "Cx4 Storm" were allowed to send the mags back to Stoeger who gave us 10 round Beretta 92 pistol mags in exchange. The alternative at the time was to pin them to 5 rounds or turn them in for destruction.

If some owners could comment on the accuracy of the non-restricted conversions, that would be great.

At 25m standing with AE Factory ammo, I can get 10 shots within 1/2" on paper.

At 100m I can hit a 10" steel gong about 80% of the time standing, and 100% of the time sitting.

The longer barrel increase the velocity about 100fps, so your accuracy improves slightly.

Cx4 is not an accurate gun and 9mm is very finicky in terms of accuracy round on its own. All those coments like "they are good" are way too broad statements. And standing shots (along with kneeling) have never been any kind of measurement of accuracy of a firearm.

With muzzle-weighted custom barrel, scope, triger work and reloaded ammo I was getting steady under 2MOA from my one of my Cx4. Sometimes close to 1MOA but never realy 1MOA. That is one out of four I have been shooting so far. Te reast of them were anywhere from 3 to 10 MOA guns depending on how bad is the trigger.

Tried again today with 115 & 147 (found the aforementioned UMC crap in other firearms too). The 115 aguila shot well but action sounded sluggish and not eject with much enthusiasm. The 147 shot well, action less sluggish, eject with much more enthusiasm. 20 round group (2 mags before anyone gets excited) at 15m open sights.

Think will hand load 124s a little warm (and keep eye out for pressure signs) and try longer range with a compact 3-9x 32mm.

And if I am not mistaken, I believe a .40 cal mag pinned to 10 will hold 13 or 14 rounds of 9mm.... am I right?
I really don't care cause as col as this carbine is, I can't afford one and had to sell all of my "non essential" firearms two years ago. I will likely buy "toys" again in a couple of years, the CX4 is only about #15 on my list.

Cx4 sure is a toy being restricted, not very accurate firearm firing anemic 9mm or 40 cal. Just as useless as AR15.

The difference is in potential. You can unrestrict, accurise and convert your Cx4 into something that has a bit more punch.
