Non-Res Registration Question?

Hey All, I am a cherry newbie who just bought my first firearm, it arrived by courier a few days ago. The retail seller transferred it to my name via the registry system online but I want to go try it soon and am not sure if I need to wait for a paper copy of the registration to be mailed to me. Due to the postal strike, this may take some time and I would like to go shooting sooner rather than later.

Do I need the paper copy of the registration certificate to take my gun out and do some plinking or is the internet printout of a transfer enough?
 
Yes, you need the piece of paper... because the registry saves lives and you could turn into a psychopathic serial killer if you happen to leave your house in possession of your rifle but without that magical piece of paper.

Remember: the registry saves lives (how? No one knows... but apparently it does, or so we were told for the last 15 years). Other reports also state that the gun registry prevents global warming. In short, it is as necessary to have as the air you breathe, "or else".

All I've ever used is the retail seller copy of the registration that was sent to me until the other came in the mail.

You could also call the CFO to quote the reg. number if you didn't have it.
 
They should have written the certificate # on the receipt. That is all you need until the one comes in the mail from the cfc

Then they were on crack or were kidding with you. If you can be issued the ATT to take it home based on the reference number (etc.. provided on the form you were given with the gun) then you can use that same number with your club ATT.

Thanks for the input everyone. I was hedging that the transfer application with a new reg. certificate number was enough and seeing as how most of you agree that is all I need, I will be going shooting as soon as I can. Preferrably some piece of quiet crown land far from the madding crowd.
 
I just purchased two firearms both NR and I was given nothing no receipt and no registration number and it was from one of the dealers above? WTF
I am going to call and find out why they did not mention anything about that.
How would I get an electronic print out of guns registered to my name?

Usually that info is on your receipt with the gun. If you did not get any of that info, then just call the store, the WILL have the transfer number and or the new cert #, either of those is fine.
