Non-Restricted 308 Black Rifle suggestions?

You can shoot sub MOA with a good M305, undoubtedly. Finding a good one may take some research and careful shopping, however. I've done groups less than 2 inches with my 18 inch M305 at 100 yards without resting it too thoroughly or being that good of a shooter, and with surplus Norinco ammo no less.
No. To be sub moa you need groups smaller than 1 inch at 100 yards. Hard to do with a true m14, doable with a national match, lets stop the norinco crap propaganda, theres a reason why a national match is nearly 10 times the price of that norinco.

I've tried pretty much all of them except the sg542.
They pretty much all suck accuracy wise, except for the fn.
But that's just my opinion, I'm generally not interested in a rifle if it's not at least got the potential to do five round, sub moa groups on average. All the really accurate 308 semi's are restricted.

Did you try the fnar?

fnar looks like a nice rifle, glad I read this thread, very informative even if there are 2 or 3 a month this is the one I stumbled upon Keep up the great work CGN'ers

Yes.
Best of the lot by far, the only non restricted 308 auto loader worth owning in my opinion. Held moa on average but, ergonomics weren't awesome, heavy, hard to find mags, maintenance wasn't user friendly.
Still no gap 10, or ss barrelled mws... But decently accurate.

mmmm yes the 542. so much more optics friendly.

Damn you tv ! Always the cool kid on the block with all your fancy toys and word talky. I'm like your biggest fan in alberta, in a totally hetro kind of way. Out of the xcr m and this, would you suggest ? I just got my first 308 bolt and its lonely? Ps totally jelly :)

2 inches at 100 yards is 2MOA.

Thanks guys. I am inclined towards both xcr-m and m305 in troy mcs stock.

What do you think?

Also to the guy with 50000 posts. This is a discussion forum. People's opinion, experiences and choices change. Also engaging in discussions is not bad thing. That's the whole point of this forum. I find argument like "use search" utterly useless. If you don't have time, don't reply.

To everyone else thank you.

I think this counts as sub-MOA. M305 and 5 rounds of 168 Grain Hornady. Not saying that I can always shoot this but when the stars align...

Not knockin' the other platforms and I'd love to have Tavor but for a $450 base gun I think few can argue that it isn't a fairly good value.
