non restricted .308 semi?

is there anything out there in .308 semi automatic that is non restricted? i was looking at rock river arms ads in one of the latest magazines but from what i have seen on here "ar" style rifles are all in restricted category. Anyway thanks in advance for any input.

still looking for something a little different than the above mentioned. is there no AR varient thats non restricted? or should i be counting my pesos and hope ing the new xcr comes out soon? i want a black rifle that looks like its straight off the cfb and performs just as well. thanks for your replies in advance again.

No. Anything AR-variantish is restricted.

I think you're thinking about the ruger mini 14.

The M14 (aka m14S, m305) is a totally different rifle.

also mini 14 is .223 not .308 and the mini-thirty is a 7.62x39 not .308 and yes i've hear great things about the m14 i've been looking into buying one and the AIA mags make it just that much sweeter for me.

The Norinco M14s/Polytech M305 can be made to shoot quite accurately with only a few hundred dollars in parts and labor (- the labor if you do it yourself!). M14 Doctor does great work, or you can attend one of Hungry's M14 clinics. With the gas system unitized and shimmed, a trigger job and a match op-rod spring guide, you should have no problem getting 2 MOA @ 100 yards.

isn't the Valmet made in .308? I think they are still unrestricted because a lot of natives use them up North.

The M-14 can be dressed up to look like its "Straight off the CFB" and with a little tuning the Norinco's can really shoot.

Or, if you have lots and lots of money and time, you can order an LRB receiver out of the US, a kreiger barrel, and track down as many USGI parts you can. Also, for parts their is a company in the US who apperently makes some really nice stuff, and are trying to set up a dealer network up here.

Chack out the main battle rifle forum for all your M-14 related needs.

Or just wait till the XCR-M get here, but by the look of things its gonna be a year or so.
