OK Ive been lurking in this thread trying to get some ideas on a NON-RESTRICTED 5.56 Politically correct Black Rifle. My AR15s are great and all, but they are restricted and are range rifles only. I have ample AR15 mags and would want a non-restricted rifle that could use them as well. In addition to that Id want a folder so that the rifle would pack better overall.
These are some options and I was wondering if anyone has comments on the following:
AR180B (Id expect to add the Stormworkz folder / ACE stock and quad rail) There are alot of references to that set-up on this board (Thanks ARMEDSASK!)
Cost would be $1200 plus modifications (rail/FH and stock)
advantages would be AR15 mags
HK SL8 I was looking at the Top Notch G36 kit for $400USD in addition to cost of the rifle that would allow for AR15 mags as well. Overall more costly but may be worth it in regards to overall quality. Im not sure if Id have the heart to add a flashider to that barrell
Robinson Arms M96 ... just slightly out of the price range
Robinson XCR Havent heard any actual user feedback.
I know that the Sig 550 series are well regarded, but they 1. dont take AR15 mags and are $$$.

better now, point was that they are identical in function (Chev vs BMW), but they are ultimately the same tool.
