non restricted acr's?

Mine doesn't feel cheap. I haven't had a problem scraping my fingers on the rail. Still going to buy a XCR just to collect them all. :evil: I love my ACR, it's my favourite gun and I'm going to have it changed to non restricted once I get my FS2000 from Irunguns.
 
Having owned both the ACR is light years ahead of the XCR. Everyone I let try it out is amazed how well it shoots and functions.

That's a bit of a stretch, please qualify the statement with some actual facts. My experience with the XCR has been first rate. Operation and ergonomics have been excellent. Accuracy has been what I would expect from semi of this type. Please indicate in what areas the ACR is light years ahead.
 
I've never held either, because I'm cheap, and will probably want to buy both if I do. To some, plastics in general feel cheap, but I own enough poly firearms to know better. I believe Dlask, or Heron Arms would have no trouble doing you a non-restricted barrel, but I'll let them comment for themselves.

Maybe light years is a stretch yes but it is better than the XCR. I didnt feel the XCR was worth keeping along with the AR's but the ACR is definately a keeper.

Things I like include:
- barrel retention system doesnt compramise accuracy like the XCR's does - ACR is capable of AR accuracy
- trigger compatability with AR - sure the XCR "match" trigger is decent but cant compete with with various options - the SSA-E in my ACR is a huge improvement
- balance - with the NR barrel the ACR isnt light but I felt it balanced better
- removable handguard - wasnt a big fan of the monolothic upper and I like the ability to put what I want on it
- aftermarket support - there are tons of options to customize the ACR from aftemarket handguards, stock adapters, to calibre conversion kits - yes Bushmaster has not released the factory kits but they will sell you the parts requried to build your own - I know in the past RobArms wouldnt do so

I think it really comes down to modularity. You can really do whatever you want with it from building a CQB rig in 300 Black out to a DMR in 6.5 Grendel and everything in between. The XCR isnt a bad rifle by any means and certainly fills a need in the CDN market. THE ACR does everything the XCR can do and then some.

Was told today when in Edmonton that the local Cabela's here has some ACR's in non-rest status, can someone else clarify this since I didn't have the time for a visit today..$3k

Last time I was there, maybe a month ago, they had res. ACR's. There are no factory NR acr's available.
 
OK, in that case re-barreling an ACR and reclassification is not really fesible for that extra $1000 on top of $3k.

Get an XCR, Tavor or better a Swiss Arms. Period!
