well looking back at it, that was a bad example for the the point I was trying to get across. which basically was the OP's initial question was WAAAY to vague. Its like walking into a gun store and saying "im looking for a gun" lol

What is the primary purpose you intend to use your gun for? The answer drives the gun selection.

Without which you're just gonna get a bunch of responses stating people's favourite gun or gun they own (or owned).

Very helpful thread, I'm in same boat as OP. However, i did go the AR route as my first gun. Thinking to sell it if I'm going to have to shell out 2K+ to have something i can shoot outside of ranges that is also quality. This M10x that seems to be a debacle so far could have been the answer by the sounds of it.
