Anyone interest/consider to change a longer barrel(18.5" to 20") for your Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm(or .40) and make it non-restricted? Collecting data for Dlask, they may get a special run if more demand. Thanks.

It is around $400 to $500 (depend on the thickness of the barrel) now for a single barrel, if the demand is high, they can do a mass run and bring down the cost to $3xx something(I guess, have to confirm with Dlask).

Bits of Pieces does it as well, for a better price to boot.

That's where mine is being made "un-restricted". :ninja:

Should have it by the end of March, I'll let everyone know how it goes. :D`

ya i heard bits and peices were doing this too. and i heard it was less than 400, and they are doing this now.

put me down

Put me on the list for a 9mm I would hope for it to be about $350.
Do we get to keep the old barrel?

Epps barrel is a bit too heavy. If Dlask could make a barrel contured to mimic the original, that would sell. Epps charged me 450 for bbl and install.

When I went into Bits of Pieces and inquired about getting a non restricted mod I was told they would keep the barrel ( as proof to the CFC that the mod was indeed done). Now, if one was to remove the barrel themselves and bring in a stripped gun, I wonder if Barry would still do the job.

That sounds odd. Barry just shipped me a new barrel that I installed myself, and didn't mention anything at all about the old barrel. A single one minute phone call to the CFC and my CX4 was an unrestricted firearm, with no proof asked for at all.

A bit of a warning for anyone thinking of doing the swap themselves...it ain't a lot of fun building the necessary wrench, and if I were to do it again I'd send it to Barry or Epps and have them change the barrels.

Barry does claim that he needs the old barrel as proof (I also don't like that), however his workmanship on the CX4 barrels is great (they look factory).

I'm in for a .40 barrel. Joe knows I love flash hiders! Gotta have tacticool on it as well.

Joesf said he have to keep the old barrel too. It looks like not enough demand to make mass production, so I think Bits of Pieces is the best choice right now. Another CGN told me that Barry charge $400 included installation & tax, it only around $350 B/T, it sounds like good price to me.

Josef is wrong, the short bbl is just a piece of steel. It's not a prohib short bbl, which he indeed has to keep. If Epps has no problem including the old bbl, no one should.

The factory barrel is NOT PROHIB. The barrel itself does NOT need to be kept by the gunsmith. It makes it even more frustrating for gun owners when gunsmiths start making there own rules (even stricter then CFC).
