Non-restricted black fun?

I dont' think they would ever succeed in banning shotguns, 22 rifles and bolt action rifles. There will always be hunters and people that need guns for defence in the rough parts of country. I hope a few of these gun banning freaks get ----------- --------------- ------------------- ----------------- ------------- ------------------ -------------------- -------------- -------------- ------------- ---------------- -------------. I am seriously thinking of moving out of this country which gets stupider every year and its not just the gun issue.

While I empathize with you, this isn't exactly how you want canadian firearm owners to be seen as thinking.

Bear in mind we're visited by people who are on the fence or simply looking for ammo in their case against us.

To all those that answered my question, thanks! That gives me some ideas as my local shops only deal in hunting and look at me like I'm a "evil baby killer" when I even bring up my sks.

It is nice to have a resource like this to get straight answers to questions from those of us who are uninformed by the current regulations put in place by the "People who keep us safe" hahaha. It has been almost 15 yrs since I sold my rifles in fear of having them all taken away by some new liberal legislation, and hopefully that doesn't happen again.

Keep up the good work guys

If you guys are worried so much about image and I am all for responsible gun ownership then I would start with a forum name change.Canada gun NUTZ is not a good name.It makes you sound fringe and crazy. Canada gun Target Shooters, Hunters and Collectors forum sounds a whole lot better to me as just a suggestion. Or something similar. Nut sounds unstable..bad choice of words.

And I strongly believe the right to bear arms to protect ones home and family and country. This is in fact in our legal system just our politicians are managing to pretend its not.

I don't think the "gun nutz" part really offends people, especially when it is associated with the friendly cartoon beaver. CGN is CGN and that isn't going to change any time soon.

But I agree the forum names can be used against us, for instance:

"Black and Green Rifles: Assault rifles and SMGs for people with good taste."

It can be difficult to convince critics that these are "sport rifles" when we call them "assault rifles" on this forum. By definition an assault rifle is selective fire, and it is something the liberals really, really hate.

But should we change the name of the forum just to make it easier to tip toe around the critics? Hell no. Changing it now to a more politically correct title makes it look apologetic, as if we were admitting they were right.

You people are friggen paranoid.

You think the people going after our guns don't know exactly what is out there?

They didn't last time - they bought a magazine and marked the evil ones down with an X on the page, then they banned or prohibbed them.

You have to love it when firearms laws are made by people who know absolutely nothing about firearms

I have to agree that the forum name puts people off. I love this forum and I have learned alot from you 'nutz', sold two rifles and bought three, but when I discuss it with non-enthusiasts, I see the twinge in their faces when I mention 'canadiangunnutz'. Yes, that sounds dumb and do not care what others think of me or my hobby, and I am not advocating a name change, but I do notice the reaction. As for the friendly beaver, you assume people call up the site and see that beaver.

Use "CGN" instead. It's a lot faster to type too!:)
