It was a package deal on the EE, but you can get the Archangel stock for about $250 and mini-14's come up on the EE all the time for around $500-$600...

Some of the early 580 didn't have the tapered barrel IIRC. The 581's all did though.

Yea im still wondering ether go with a KelTec SU16 or a new 581 Mini 14 in a sparta stocK ? If the Mini took AR mags it would be so much better . I guess there is the MR1 close to that price range too , I know its a great , and accurate rifle but its sure ugly lol.

Well, it's "on a budget" compared to something like the Tavor, XCR or Swiss Arms.
