Really? It looks like an AK and even seems to have the same internals. Wouldn't that get it slapped with the restricted or prohibited?
No that particular model is exempt from the prohib status. Don't ask me why with our crazy laws.

this s**t don't make sense!!!![]()
IIRC, those particular AK's were given by the Canadian government to the natives. Can you imagine the s**tstorm they would brew if the man came and took THEIR guns away?
rofl. the gov't gave them M78s? Wow. I do declare that I deserve a free gun too![]()
From the rumours I have heard, part of the reason they were given them was for northern defence, as Russia was still an enemy communist state back in the 80's, and there was the fear of them taking that route if they ever invaded.
:
And discontinued are:
Norinco M14S/M305 - $400+
Robinson Arms M96 - $2000+
Armalite AR180B-2 - $???
M14S are about $460 currently. They'll be "coming back" though, so I've heard from virtually every dealer (including Canadian Tire!)
Canadian Tire sells firearms? I thought retail chains in Canada aren't allowed to sell guns, only ammunition and airguns.
Are you sure you don't mean Ontario... CT sells guns out west, and maybe out east too

No actual firearms in my local CT.
This is in suburban Quebec, though... So it's not very much of a surprise, is it?

Canadian Tires are private owned. They buy the franchise and run the store with'in the company guide lines, thats why not all CT stores carry all the same stuff, etc... (Thats how it was when I worked there back in 1996 anyways...things may have changed now!?!?
