non-restricted CX4 barrels...

If you lengthen the barrel on a Storm to make it non-restricted would you not then have to also pin the magazine to 5 rounds since it's a centerfire rifle?

Why, what difference does that make?

Only if the mags say CX4 on them. If you use standard Beretta 92F mags they can be 10, as they are handgun mags, funny rule, but true.

The extra shipping and registering etc that Epps does is worth the extra couple hundred bucks IMHO. They have it down toa science now anyways, no hassles. :D

Hey Steyrtac, we'll be looking out for this. Thanks!

One question for Storm owners - are the 9mm and 40 S&W versions different recievers or are the only differences mags and the barrel/chamber?

I wondering if I can get a 9mm and ream the chamber to accept a .357 SIG round without too many hassles?

same reciever , there was talk by Beretta that they would be selling the 45,40 and 9 uppers seperatly so you could have all three cals and one reciever.

Now that I would be interested in...

Well thinking about it I'd ahve to get a 40S&W chambered one and then swap the barrel for a 9mm tube reamed for the .357SIG.

Should be a minimum of hassles as (in theory) the only difference is the barrel.

I got a quote in an email back from Epps today:

$475 for the conversion, including the barrel.

Apparently they're set up to do 9mm and .45 now, and .40 in the spring.

The little voice in my head is saying "Do it! Do it NOW!" and "NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!"

Yeah but how about 357 sig?

As it's 9mm with a different chamber reamed I would imagine that the hard part would be sourcing the 9mm tube as you can mail order chamber reamers pretty easy.

I think the .40 S&W hydra shocks coming out of an 18.5" tube could be nasty .Can epps do any work on the storm triggers ? ? I tried a factory one and the trigger was bad. What are we talking with a storm 4 moa ? mini 14 type groups ?

email

Hello!

I got a email from Epps, 1200$ plus taxes but...

3 month wait...:(

I guess waiting is the better part of getting something...

Well according to the fellow at Epps they don't just get a longer barrel for it. They get a barrel blank and spend some serious time reprofiling it to match the storm, expensive but for the work involved...

I'm curious why a new barrel would have to be made. Can you not just take an "extension" And weld it to the end? (I guess fabricate would be a better description, as it's more then just welding.. it would have to be drilled a bit wider, and make to look seamless)

I'm not talking about spot welding some thin walled tube on the end, I'm talking about a proper extension. Same wall thickness, seamless weld all the way through, and all the way around. Finished so no difference can be seen. The only diff wound be on the inside (slightly wider, and no rifling.)

BTW: not everyone has the default page size.. for me this is all one single page. so references to "page 2" don't always apply.

Someone who is serious about this call and set it up :)

So I e-mailled and they came back and said they are working on this and will have something to offer in 5/6 months.

Will endeavour to keep up on this one.
