Well... My brand new FS2000 just arrived. WOW, it's just as awesome as I was hoping for. I picked up 1000rds of ammo on the way home from work, so I'm gonna shoot it this weekend. I'm hoping to shoot it in a 3-gun match very soon, along with my 15" Grizzly Mag, and my Glock G20.

This particular rifle is classed as non-restricted because it has a Hi-desertdog 18.7" barrel on it. I had the importer (Questar) install it and do all the paperwork to get it reclassified for me.

The only problem is it didn't come with a flash hider. So, if anyone has any suggestions on which one would be good for the FS2000 please let me know.

Wow! Congrats man!

As for the FH, there are alot of options. From footage I've seen the SEI Vortex is the best. One I like for it's pain compliance teeth is the Troy Medieval FH... As I only shoot during daylight, don't know how well it reduces flash.

Yep, it's 1/2-28. I guess I'll have to educate myself on flash hiders. I don't know anything about them right now. I've been a handgun guy for the past few years. I'm just starting to get into the rifle aspect of firearms.

Hmmm, Brownells sells the Vortex flash hider for $52.99. Does anyone know if they'll ship flash hiders? I've bought parts for my Glocks from them before no problems, but some companies treat flash hiders differently than regular firearm parts.

I'd recommend against the Vortex. I know that some swat units have dropped them because they found the prongs can bend under impact, this alone precludes any type of run and gun with the vortex for me. Also I see no value to a flash hider for my personal use and would rather have a brake.

One other thing that I don't like is muzzle devices that are prone to catching on things like clothing, webbing etc so pointed devices or pronged ones are out for me.

I'd look for a brake that functions and is enclosed. My .02.

No-go, they won't ship FH...

My main use for the FS2000 will be 3-gun matches. Well, aside from letting my friends have a go blasting large fruit and metal plates.:D

So I guess a sturdy flash hider will be the order of the day.

There must be a CGN dealer that sells flash hiders.

We offer several different flash hiders as Feature Options that you could have ordered as part of the gun (installed).

You can still order a variety of flash hiders and muzzle breaks starting at $18.95 including the peel washer... https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopexd.asp?id=911&bc=no

We also have PWS Flash Suppressing Compensators

We offer a variety of other muzzle breaks but they are out of stock and would have to be custom ordered for you.

You would think spending 3K +++ you would have at least a A2 Birdcage thrown in there!!

Whether an item is $300 dollars... $3,000 dollars... or $30,000 nothing is FREE and everything costs money. FN doesn't throw anything in for free... the gunsmiths don't work for FREE and the barrel companies don't throw anything in for free either (they charge us for every screw, nut, washer, etc. that is used to build these guns.

We try to price these items at the lowest price possible (and still make a profit and stay in business after we've paid all of our expenses, staff, etc.). Yes we could have "thrown in" an A2 or some other muzzle device had we charged more for the gun... we also could have left the barrel as a Target Crown with no threading and charged extra to thread the barrel for those that wanted to add a muzzle device...

Since most customers wanted some type of muzzle device and many did not want A2 flash hiders, we kept the price as low as possible and let the customer decide which muzzle device he wanted.

Anyone who "throws in" an item on your purchase is obviously not giving you their best price to begin with ;)
