Non-Restricted modern rifes

Well, I believe you about the 180b-2 and the 180b and variants being different guns but I do not trust it to stay that way. Looking at all the other bull#### restricted and prohib rifles I just feel that one day my bush beating black rifle will end up a safe queen.

I am still entertaining the idea, if I could find one I MIGHT buy it, anyone got a price check on them?

Firstly, my understanding is that the Ar180b and Ar180b-2 are basically the same rifle, but the b-2 version is the post AWB version created with a fixed muzzle break machined as part of the barrel. The Ar180b has an 18" barrel and is restricted due to barrel length, and the Ar180b-2 is non-restricted as the barrel and integral muzzle break is longer than 18.5". The original Ar180 is a prohibited firearm; however, the Ar180b is considered to be not a variant because the lower receiver (read the legal firearm) is of a different pattern. Basically, your concerns are unjustified. The reason the Armi-Jager AP-80 became prohibited is because it is identical to the Mitchell Arms AK-22, which is a named AK-47 variant.

The only way it will go prohib is by an OIC. They'll go for around $1800, and IMO for that price range, there are better options.

as for a non restricted im using a mini 30. 581 series, the sparta stock is a real winner for me and makes the mini 10x more appealing, lots of support for the minis and for a cheap gun to shoot its up there with the cz and sks but with a little more style IMO

I own a CZ-858, it's pretty damn nice. However, it is clunky and does look cheap.

I also own a VZ-58 (restricted) which is about the same gun but with a shorter barrel. I have a lot of good things to say about that firearm, although it's really no where near the AR-15 lightness.

iv looked at all these rifles so far and id like to get one, but i cant find that ar180b-2 also is there any higher cal semi rifles that are NON restricted?
im confused to which rifle is best for the price.

Well you got the xcr-m in 308 the rfb also in 308, the m14 and thats about it.

Unless you want a benelie r1 in 300 or 338 win mag? :p

What do you need the gun for? Just target shooting? Hunting in feeld or in a stand? Are you going to walk trouh the wood? Get in and out of car/trucks? Are you a bypod hunter?

well i havent decided yet, i want to see whats reliable as well as accurate, but i dont mind target shooting, andi do hunt so maybe a mix of the two. but more target then anything

Ok well if your on a low budget I would go with a m14, there reliable and cheep 400-500$ but they are an older style of firearm, less flexible ie. No rail or pistol grip. Cant mount vertical grip/laser/light, back up sight, need special mount for optic and tacticle after market stock are usualy mor expansive then the gun

Inever seem a xcr-m in personne but heard alot of great and some bad, the bad would be customer service and some need locktight cause they get loose, there accurate from what i heard, nice looking flexible (folding stock I think and rails) great for the range a bit lighter then the m14....

Now I am biase, I got a rfb and its my by far favorite gun, its about 10 inch shorter then the 2 other mesuring a minuscle 27 inch non restricted with os 18.5 inch barrel, and since its so light it feel lighter to shoulder then my 22lr ruger 10/22. I never had a problem with it ,its really well made! Its great for fireing of hand, getting in and out of the truck, walking in the woods plus kel-tec got one of the best if not the best customer service. The draw back is harder to find mags and some mags are finicki and its a bit harder to shoot on bags at the range.

Personnaly id go with the rfb, but its all you, see what you like, what you can afford and what you looking for in a gun
