what options r there for non restricted tactical rifles? I know all about the Ruger conversions and the umarex M4, thats taking forever to get cleared. Is there any .223 or 7.62 rifles that r non restricted? Does caliber have anything to do with whether or not its restricted? How about mag size?

There are a few options like the AR180b and the Swiss Arms rifles. There is also the Sl8 and some other not so black rifles

You might want to surf this forum a bit more... and use the search feature. Not trying to be a smartass, but these topics have been discussed to death. You'll find the answers to your questions have all ready been posted.

We first have to agree on what we consider a tactical rifle.

We have a bunch of rifles called assault rifles and then we have sniper rifles.

I would suggest you do a google search for each one of these categories and then go to the CFC site to see which one are non-restricted, restricted or prohibited.

The prohibited list in Canada is a mile long.

Good luck and if you want something very popular these days, I would look at the CZ 858-2 (non restricted in Canada). The CZ 858-2 is more of an assault rifle without the fully automatic mode such as the AK-47.

if you got some good coin, i think Canada ammo wanted to bring in some Negev's , "tactical beltfed".

If you are looking for something with the "assault look" (i'm sorry for using that dumb liberal term, but best word that came to mind), than you will be surprised we got a few odd rifles you would normally think to be restricted. I'd say , if u got the cash, go for the Swiss or HK items.

No such thing. They don't exist.
Anything over 22lr is prohibited and only single shot mags are allowed.
