Non-restricted vs standard capacity AR...

#1....why? Because once non-restricted the RCMP could easily do a 'review' and reclassify it as prohibited.

The fact that ARs are restricted by law, has kept them safe. RCMP cannot change their classification

I never looked at it that way. Why is it that the RCMP cannot "review" restricted firearms? I always assumed the RCMP could review anything and reclassify it if they wanted to.

I think he means that because the AR is specified in the act by name as restricted means that the RCMP can't reclassify it.

That said, I'd still vote for non-restricted (#2).

Magazine capacity would be an issue that can be tackled by every semi auto owner (and rightly should be addressed to remove reducing capacity).

So my vote would be #2 all the way.

Bingo. .. my point is that either is somewhat useless without structural reform

With so much other nr black and red rifles out there id rather have full capacity mags your gonna take havin 1 more nr over having high caps potential in every other gun on the market easy choice for me

The ar-15 is the rifle all our current nr's aspire to be. None can beat it in accuracy, modability, and cool factor. Lifting magazine capacities is far too contentious among politicians anyways.

You do realize its is all imagery where now gonna take into account on what's easier to get passed

My 0.02 is that it will be more likely to get AR's declared NR (hopefully while I am still young enough to enjoy an AR outdoors) than us ever getting standard capacity magazines.

Non-restricted so they cannot be confiscated later.... or at least it would be harder.
