They are made in 380 and 22 LR - 9mm would probably shorten the life of the receiver. 5.7 might be possible and 22 mag with a longer magwell and bolt redesign.

Makarov is for sale already. 9mm was developed but never made for retail sale. A 9mm one would sweet.

I suspect it was never sold because the cartridge was too powerful. If you have any more info - please share. I'm curious how they managed to get 9luger into that magwell (p08 luger mags fit in the magwell, but the feed angle is too extreme)

Personally I would love a complete upper with a long barrel and a handguard... (and I'm pretty sure I know how that handguard was attached in the youtube video) but I suspect my desires are once again unconventional

Anyone know any gunsmiths who could advise or quote such a conversion ?

I know it's impractical to build a NR skorpion however I have a lot of fun with my bras-99's and m1 carbine. The pistol caliber carbines seem to be more fun for family and friends because of the low recoil and lower noise level. A shroud or handguard would be nice too.

you dont need a super long barrel, if its in 22lr, no barrel length requirements, i believe.
just over all length (OAL), has to be met. so maybe just a pinned stock, and slightly longer flash hider pinned?
