Keep an eye on the EE forums. If you're buying brand new you'll want to look into a AR180B.

Its more of a shade of gray than a black rifle.

Heres my AR180B, I added the Midwest Industries Quadrail Handguard, Midwest scope mount, Stormwerkz stock adaptor, RockRiver Arms Buttstock!
Total cost was around 1600 including tax.

I just hit the range this morning, Shot a 1 inch group with WIN Whitebox 55gr FMJ, shot numerous groups 2 days ago just over an inch!!!

Heres my Beretta Cx4 in 9mm Luger, total cost with custom non-restricted barrel about 1360$, shoot cheapest ammo you can ever get without reloading.

Robarm XCR-L runs about 1895 now days. Excellent and pretty rifle.

Go for broke and get the Tavor 5.56mm, non-restricted.

This really depends on what you're planning on doing.

Your options:

CZ 858, VZ58L, Berretta, AR 180b, XCR, HK SL8-4.

That being said there is also the "grey rifle". IE Ruger mini14. The target model is fairly accurate and they aren't that expensive.
