Non restrictive AR 15 exists?

I'm a newbie and I enjoy guns very much. There are many resources out there that can help you with info on all firearms !
That being said the OP sounds like he is fishing for a news article.
No offence to anyone but during these times of heated debate on mag capacitys, 50 cal rifles and non restricted rifles one must be careful of what they say and who they say it to !

Really? Because I could have sworn you just asked if the AR-15 was non-restrictive.

I asked if there is a AR that's non restrictive with 18.5 or longer barrel. I knew AR's in general are restricted , I did not know if a AR with a 19 inch barrel was still considered restricted.

Not surprising that such questions get asked by new people as our laws are incomprehensible. ACR - unrestricted.. AR- Restricted.. no good reason why.. it just is.
unless you parsed the lists of restricted / prohibited weapons how would you know.

according to the Criminal Code, a 18.5 inch barrel AR15 should be non restricted, full stop.

No clearly an AR is a much more advanced babykilling device then the Kriss Vector, ACR, tavor and all the other black rifles combined.
Its ability to shoot at the same semi-automatic rate, using the same caliber of rounds, and potentially be more inaccurate then any of the above weapons clearly proves this.

Canadian gun law at its best lol.

I guess going with a AK variant like a CZ 858, might be an better option and still be able to get a 19 inch barrel and be non resticted. Then just changing out the check stock and add some rails to it.

General rule: please don't call any rifle we can legally buy in Canada a "variant" of something scary to the masses like an AK or whatever. Just gets the anti's reading this thread all upset for no reason. Then they may try to ban more rifles based on cosmetics.

If you can wait a bit, keep your eye on this new rifle trying to come up to Canada. Looks like an AR-15, but it isn't. It will accept AR-15 mags, pistol grip and butt stock. The guts of the rifle are different though and they are trying to get non-restricted status.

Please work on your firearms knowledge, terms and definitions.

Welcome to CGN.

Yeah, not a newbie at all.[/QUOTE

I guess your only usefull in making unappropiate remarks on this forum, instead of making effort to help people with thier questions. If this thread bothers you so much just don't reply.

It just gets tiring browsing through the black rifle forum when about 2/3 of each page is some guy that just joined up asking the same tired, old questions over and over again.

Here's a tip: READ and SEARCH before posting your questions because they've likely been answered before. Leave the discussions to those that are more knowledgeable than you and quit cluttering up the place with your useless crap. Then, once you've stuck around for a while and learned the basics, take the time to pose an original question for discussion or provide something insightful.

But what the :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: do I know. I wouldn't want to hurt his feelings, so by all means, please start another thread about what non-restricted blackrifle is the best or another 5.56 vs 7.62 debate.

Yes the wording was wrong, look alike would have been the wiser choice. The MPA-RC is something that looks interesting, and I'll waiting and see how long this will take to be RCMP NR approved.
