Non Steel Reusable Shotgun Targets?

I could find the stands on Prophets site but not the reusable clays, what were the made from?
I also have a set of those stands. Mine came with 4 or 6 reusable rubber clays.

They are so great for kids. Set em up at like 15m and watch the smiles grow as the clays explode.

Makes sense, I assume you hang it off a target stand?
I shot an IPSC match once where they used a whole bunch of 6" or 8" circles punched out of conveyor belt. They sat in a groove cut in a 2" x 4"
Although not quite as satisfying to shoot as steel, they did go flying when you hit them, were easy to reset and seemed quite durable. Part of the fun of shooting shotgun is feeling like you are destroying something.
Problem is cutting the circles. Definitely doesn't sound like fun cutting them out with a jig saw. Square would probably be just fine.

at a Practical Shotgun shoot we used 4L. milk jugs with about an inch or so of woodfire pellets in for weight
just enough that the jug would react but stay close, good for several hits and no mess

One of the shotgun matches I attended many years ago used sections of 2x4, like 18" tall, as knockdowns. Easy to set, easy to replace, you shoot them, they fall over. Spraypaint one end orange for some pizazz. With the target loads, unless you unload with the super extra giga turkey choke, they usually last through a squad.

Think I am going to try this 2x4 idea.

I saw similar filled with expanding foam with expanding. They lasted the match but were pretty mangled by the end.

I use the round paper charts that we use on the gas meter runs at work
Just staple them to a survey stake and you have an instant target.
They work great for rifle and pistol rounds too

Do you have access to bushland to shoot on?

Set up steel where the bottom of plate hangs away from you, directing the lead down.

Yes, I have done that but in the depths of winter with a heap of snow on the ground (drive to that spot is kinda sketchy too) it isn't ideal.

I am actually considering joining another range with a dedicated steel bay (it has everything) but it is a bit of a drive (1.25 hours each way).

Steel is cool to shoot and I find you learn so much more with the instant feedback.

Unfortunately my Club doesn't allow steel targets (unless at a sanctioned event
or talk to the bod and arrange your own discipline practice day/night
one club has had these for 22prs, rifle sil, 22 sil, and handgun sil, and handgun steel challenge shoots, most were just a variety of steel at various distances depending on who showed up. All were fun events and never did take-off to anything like a competitive match, just not enough interest.
