I do it at home with boiling water or sometimes with my swedish trangia alcohol stove to boil water if away from home.

... Do not forget the gas system also, it is not chrome, and will rust also. ...

How do you guys clean the gas system at the range? Do you strip everything down or is there some trick everyone knows but me lol

I do not worry about it until I get home, and in any case it it comes all apart so easily anyway.

grab a bottle of windex to take to the range with you spray it down the barrel and it will dislodge to sulfates and give you plenty of time to get it home for a proper cleaning
