Noob gun owner Trying to find a basic mosin nagant

As mentioned, check the EE,
I have no affiliation with this company but westrifle has a lot of hand select mosins left but they aren’t cheap- if you don’t feel comfortable buying used.

cheers.

grab a crate of ammo while you can, mine will be put to the back of the safe soon if surplus continues to dry up

Corwin arms is another good spot. They did bring in 5-6 mosins back in June, but they are known to sell quickly. If they’re out of stock send them an email. They are pretty good at giving you an eta if they’re expecting any shipments.

A Canadian Tire store in Alberta had $200 Mosins two years ago. And German K98's for $800. Things change; surplus has limited supply, by definition. Remember when Swiss K31's were $400?

I only paid $250 for my K31, and not all that long ago.

It's funny, really, to think that 70+ years on, we're finally coming to the end of WWII surplus firearms being cleared from government inventories.

To the OP:

Check the EE. You should be able to find something pretty decent in the $200(ish) range, but I wouldn't shilly-shally around. 6 months or a year from now, that price is likely to climb.

Thays about what I paid for my k31 about 2 years ago.

Was buying mosins @ $100-$150 couple years ago. I'm glad I stocked up on them when I did as they seem to be finally going up in price.

Unfortunately, Westrifle does not have any "regular" Mosins in stock anymore. They only have a "sniper" Mosin version with a replica scope (not the original one). Indeed, the price is stiff at $750.

Westrifle deals in Mosins. You can also try the EE. The prices have risen on everything as they do. For a 1943 beater your looking at least $250 now.

Just read the above post in more detail and looked at westrifles site. Indeed they are down to the sniper repro's... Still I bought a sniper from him years ago and with PRC 7.62x54r will group under an inch for 4 rds out of 5 with 1 round being within an inch at 100m. Same rifle groups 1.5 inch avg with everything else at 100m that I have tried.
