I have decided to enter the reloading game and went to cabelas today to secure my powder today. The guy at the counter advised that Hodgdon 100v would be a good / best powder for a 270 pushing 130 grain Hornady Interlock bullets. I'm looking for deer rounds to be run through a cooper m52. I came home and found that there are NO LOAD recipes on the Hodgdon website for that bullet design so I'm reaching out to the collective group to see if I am SOL with that plan. If that is the case are any sealed powders returnable? Doubting it but I'll ask the question.

Thanks in advance all.

It's in there when I just searched, however they refer to the bullet as 'Hdy SP'.

51gr/2845fps start, 56.0C gr/3066fps. C meaning compressed powder charge.

I briefly used 100V in my 270 Win. The load I worked up to was 53.5 grs with the 130 gr Hornady Interlock, CCI 200 in a Rem case. I never got to chrony the load but the accuracy just wasn't there. One of the best powders I have used in my 270 is IMR 4831. Max loads got me about 3000 ft/sec in my 22" barrel, with great accuracy. The 130 gr Hornady Interlock was the bullet. The hodgdon site has data for this powder with the 130 gr Hornady.Their starting load is 51grs and their max is 56grs.

I have had great success with 100V in several chamberings.
With it, I was able to drive 338/210 Partitions in excess of 3000 FPS safely, and it shot sub-moa.
The 30-06 with 165 grain bullets.......2990 avg for 5, and again, sub-moa.
I am going to try it in my 303 Ross with 215 grain bullets. Eagleye.

The Hodgdons website lists the following load data for 130 grain Hornady "Interlock" soft point bullet.
Hybrid 100V
Start load 51.0 grains, 2,845 fps, 51,000 PSI
Max load 56.0C grains, 3,066 fps, 61,800 PSI

The Hornady #10 reloading manual list the following load data for 130 grain bullets. (130 gr GMX, 130 gr Interbond, 130 gr SST and 130 gr Interlock SP)
Hybrid 100V
Start load 49.0 grains
Max Load 53.3 grains

Lyman 50th Edition reloading manual list the following load data for 130 grain Sierra SBT bullet (same data as Hodgdon's)
Hybrid 100V
Start load 49.0 grains
Max load 56.0 grains

Suggest you get more reloading manuals that will give you more information and compare load data.

P.S. Your lucky I'm retired with nothing to do and all day to do it and had my first cup of coffee before 6:00 am ;)

Good shooting, be safe and check each fired workup cartridge case for signs of excess pressure.
