Hey guys I have a really quick question, I just picked up a Norinco CQA a little wile ago and iv been toying with putting an Eotech or similar style optic on it. Will the Eotech brand sights or a Acog style sight Co mingle with the front Iron of the Norc? if mounted on the flat top rail. Or would they require mounting on some type of raiser platform or even on top of the rear sight handrail?

Any advice would be awesome!

Thanks!

A regular EoTech like the 551/552 will co-witness with the front sight. Some people don't mind this at all however since you aren't using the front sight to aim some people prefer to raise the sight somewhat. This is called lower third co-witness, you can still see the front sight but it will be below the red dot. The 557 has a riser built in so it is lower third co-witness only.

Your best bet is to shoot with irons for now and try out other peoples set ups and see which you prefer, an absolute or lower third co-witness.

Absolute co-witness will line up your irons with the red dot, 1/3 co-witness will put your irons in the lower third portion of the sight. Risers or raised sights will give you 1/3 co-witness, none raised sights will give you absolute.

If you asking if the front site will interfere with absolute co-witness? No it will be alright. In fact, if you have no rear iron the front sight will generally appear to be a little lower.
