does any one know the size of the front and rear dovetail for the Norinco 1911. Looking at replacing the sights on my NP29 9mm. I have the matte chrome and the sights also being matte chrome makes it hard to pick up the sights.

Thx

What model 1911 ?

I removed the sights on my NP29 yesterday.

The front dovetail base width is approximately .245" .075" depth, didn't calculate angle. I have looked everywhere and every sight I found had a wider base width.

The rear dovetail base width measured approximately .323" .100" depth, didn't calculate angle. This rear sight will fit https://www.fusionfirearms.com/part...sight-colt-gov-series-70-80-90-black-serrated

The above sight can likely be ordered from http://practicalperformance.ca/gun-parts/colt-1911/ as they stock other parts from Fusion Firearms.

I replaced my rear and had to file to fit. I guess there was a height difference. the gun shot 2ft low after. Something to consider is sight height front vs rear.

Matte chrome NP-29 9mm. Chrome sights on a chrome slide is not very good for target acquisition.

Rear is genuine colt dovetail. Any sight that are made for GI spec/ colt will fit. .330x60 iirc.

Front is way small, but a para ordnance front sight kinda fit with a bit of filing.
