Norc 1911 extractor and rear sight

I finally got around to taking my Norinco 1911A1 out and shoot off a box. I noticed that the brass really flies, so much I was not able to find it all. Is their any way to adjust the extractor so the brass doesn't fly so far?

Also, I am working towards parkerizing it, and would like to know if their is any particular method that has to be done to remove the rear sight?

You can try a different - heavier - recoil spring.

The original is 16#. Buy an 18#, 20#, and a 22#.

Try it and see how you like it, and which weight of recoil spring is best for your application.

It was recommended, can I leave it on? If so I would rather do so.

Any grease or oil under the sight could leach out and mar the re-finish.

For best results, you would remove the sights.
