I know this question have probably been answered before but could not find it. I just got myself a Norc 1911 sport model and was thinking abour upgrading the sight on it. Are the dovetail to a standard or do I have to have my slide recut to accept standard 1911 sight (like novak)?

From what I have found, the rear sight groove is very close to the mil-spec 1911 groove, but I have not confirmed that by fitting a mil-spec sight into the groove. The front dovetail is like nothing else I have found. I just had Rodger Kotanko at Dark International mill my slide and install a Bo-mar adjustable sight along with a matching fiber optic front on my Norc 1911. Hopefully, I have the slide back by this weekend to see it in person.

If you dont mind me asking how much did the milling cost?

Bomar sight $60, installation $75, fiber optic front sight and installation $50. With taxes and shipping it was a bit over $200.

I am not trying to start a fight here but wouldn't it just be easier to buy a Spartan with those kind of sights already on it. Or is there something else that I am missing here?

Possibly, but a Spartan is still $800+ and I am not into my Norc for that (yet). The new Spartan IV's that Armco lists don't have the Bomar style rear sight anymore, either. I am sure the new sights are still better than the Norc 1911 sights, though.
