Hi guys,
I've been experiencing a very weird stoppage lately with my Norinco 1911 Government. On a two occasions in the last 100 rounds here what happened :

- On the last shot(gun empty)
- New Wilson 7-rounds mag
- I'm shooting right handed(isoceles)
- The slide locks back

BUT :
- The slide is NOT locked COMPLETELY back
- The slide lock lever is a LITTLE bit out of the frame
- The slide is locked at the exact same spot it has to be to take out the slide lock lever when stripping the gun.

To clear it I have to make some slack on the slide by pulling on it and then push the slide lock lever back in.

What do you think is faulty here guys? What should be done?

Thanks

Possibly the magazine follower,as it comes up is pushing out on the inner tab of the slidestop and pushing it out of the takedown halfmoon on the slide causing the jam.

You could try a new slide stop, try different magazines,or try deepen the "dimple" on the slide stop where the pin from tunnel on the frame abuts.Take the slide off the frame, insert a mag and see if there is too much contact from the magazine follower onto the inner tab of the slide stop.

have the same problem.buy a brand name slide lock and replace the original, you may have to sand or grind a little to get the perfect fit,the norcs get loose fast and cause all kinds of jams, stuck slide ect

Yet again, what do you call "fast" and 'loose??' mine has yet to shine up the frame rails and I'm well into a second set of springs. Given that the frame and slide are made of 5100 tool steel, I can't see them loosening faster than say, a cast 4130 frame.

for some reason the slide stop gets a little loose and will creep out say 1mm and then causes the slide to act up,wierd lock ups both forward and back as for the frame and slide i havent had any problem or major wear.

It could be a heat treat issue with the slide stop (a bad batch perhaps?) What generation is the pistol, ie: old style (parkerized GI Clone) middle generation (blued w/beavertail) or latest ('Police Model' or 'Sport Model') Could also be an out of spec link, but more likely the slide stop.

its the blued/beavertail version.bought it for my girlfriend to get her into pistols and she picked the 1911 style cause she thought it was the coolest looking pistol.now she thinks 1911 pistols are the coolest!me im a cz guy!however a new slide lock did fix it.maybe a bad batch,or just a bad day in china!
