It moves very loosely back and forth and side to side when the slide is back :shock: .

Yes! The barrel will always be loose when the slide is back. It's when it is closed that tight lockup matters.

sixty9santa, Like Freedom Ventures said that is completely normal in the 1911. The gun was designed that way. By the sounds of it you have a real shooter on your hands. Lets us know how she functions.
