Norc AR15 clones

What about scoping? If I want to scope an AR does it make more sense to buy the flattop models or go with mounting it on the carry handle? Anyone with experience in scoping the Norinco?

I put a scope on the carry handle (one fixed 4x, and then the Marstar OPT-030 6x) and never had any problems with it.

It's tough to get a cheek weld, but overall, it works well. Flattop IS better, but carry handle will do.

If you want, buy the 311, and later on down the road buy a stripped flattop upper for less than $200, and rebarrel it! You can use the Norinco barrel, but you'd need a new barrel nut as the threads are different.

I ended up keeping my Norinco stock (except for furniture!) and built a new 14.5" over time.

Never had a SINGLE problem with my 311. Keeps on ticking, no matter what!

You can't get more bang for the buck especially when all 3 were the price of 1 Colt:eek: . As cheap as the 311 is, I've never had one malfunction on me at a match. Lots of my Colt shootin' buddies can't say the same:(

I must concurr with my esteemed home-boy Glocker....
The 311 works just fine.... I've often ripped through a hundred rounds in a few minutes with mine... until the barrel's so hot y'could probably like a cigar off it... The ##### didn't hiccup once.
It would be the only AR-ish rifle I'd own if it was importable into the US.

Looks like some think the rifle is superior to the American ARs!

I posted a few more questions but I don't think they showed up. Well, anyway, short version
-is the chamber chromed
-what is the barrel twist and how does it handle military ammo?

Barrel is chromed... I'll assume this incl the chamber..
the 311 has a 1:12 twist so stick to 50, 55 gr. bullets....
'Gun handles mil. ammo just fine.... I've fired 1000's of rounds thru mine without any trouble...
If I ever put the thing up on the EE I won't be able to advertise
"Low round count":D
