Norc AR15's and Compatibility?

as TDC said...they are not milspec.

Unless you're in Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, or Iran - then they are milspec.

I've had an early 14.5 and a late 10.5 upper - they worked fine with the vast majority of NA parts - I never had a handguard problem because I had a free float rail fitted. The major issue I had was trying to replace the ambi safety, the rest of the Stag parts kit worked just fine, and the Stag parts worked with the Norc safety, so not really an issue. As far as the receiver extension goes, you can swap it out for a milspec one, or buy commercial extension stocks, which ever you prefer.

As far as those who were unable to remove the front FSB.
I wonder how many of them work manually with tools on a regular basis.
I was able to drift the pins out in a matter of 15 minutes or so.
I good quality punch set along with a metal faced dead blow hammer will do the trick.
I didn't even have an FSB block available at the time.
I used several layers of heavy duty cardboard backing on the opposite side of the FSB.

+1 Probably trying to pound it out on the Ikea kitchen table with a steel punch and framing hammer.

I've had no issues using mil spec parts on my Norinco to date. Also, Magpul moe accessories all fit like a glove. the one exception was the hand guard, which needed a bit of a firm push of the Dring to seat fully - no tooling required.

The only issue I've ever had was slightly modifying handguards to fit. I also changed out my trigger, charging handle and buffer tube with no issues whatsoever.

My gas tube diameter is bigger therefore I can't use another BCG. It does not fit in other brand gas key. I guess I can change to gas tube to a spec one to fix that...

they are mill spec. anything will fit them that will fit the other makes.

(the CQ113 full size is a m16a1 tho so is metric)

Good to know!

Thanks!

A lot of misinformation out there for sure eh?

I also heard varying things regarding the finish on the Norcs, I've been told that the earlier models were painted with junk finish and the later models had the more solid parked style finish.

Am I right out of it on this info as well?

I would disagree with this part, from personal experience they are not milspec. I tried to throw a bushmaster trigger in my old nork and it double tapped automatically and then jammed. Might just be an isolated incident but thought you should know. I sold it for parts shortly there after.

I might have 700 bucks in my name soon. I want an AR. I was going to hold out possibly for a Colt or NEA. But my co worker always tells me just buy a Norc. Anything else you guys can tell me. I want to use it for comp and practice training as my duty rifle.

As previously mentioned, the front sight post and gas block can be a ##### to get off. With the front post often being next to impossible without tools, and still being a ##### with them. These things can best be described as overbuilt.

With regards to triggers, furniture and optics, all should fit, although some furniture may need fitting.
