Just had to ask, is anyone else totally impressed with the latest batch of Norinco Commanders? I've had a couple of minty Colts and previously had a Norc Government and Commander. I currently have a very nice slightly modified Series 80 Stainless and now the new Commander. Actually just gotten into autos so far from an expert. This new one is finished way, way nicer. The under side of the slide has no machine marks and the locking lugs don't look like they were chewed out by a Beaver. Overall I'm very happy with it and can't wait to try it out.

I have one on the way from Frontier.

Will let you know when it arrives!

From Frontier's site....

I just bought a used (1 year old) Norc Hi-cap 1911 from a fellow CGN'er and am very impressed with the over all workmanship. It's fairly accurate too:D Definently worth what I payed for it...

ok angled slide serations, longer 3 hole trigger , beaver tail grip saftey,
gone are the commander small hole hammer, cheezy wrap around grips,I kinda like the new Norc commander!!

Latest version of the Norc "Commander"....

I have one that I picked up last summer from a local dealer. I'm totally impressed. All I've done is give it a details strip to remove all the factory gunk & grease. Reassembled it with an aluminum adjustable trigger and added a set of double diamond hardwood stocks with hex head screws. Other than that she's all stock. Great trigger pull. Loves factory Fiocchi 230 gr JHP's. And everything else I've put thru it. Curiously, the two factory mags it came with seem to work well, too.

I have tried several different mags in mine and it seems to like the cheap mags the best, never had a problem with the nork mags.

Me hopes that one of those models will be a double stacked commander!

Can you say if any of the features found in the Israeli steel 1911 (I won't name the likely source of parts they used) that came through a year ago will be found on the new models?

Guys, if you get one of these, do yourselves a favour - give the blueing a polish with Flitz metal polish, people have asked me where I had mine refinished.

The only thing that bugs me about these is that beavertail, has anyone tried to figure out what the radius cut is on them ?

It would be a pain to have to weld up the frame tangs in order to fit another grip safety in there.
